Mordecai Richler’s First Novel
Mordecai Richler’s very first book was published in 1954, The Acrobats. The novel was about living in a rat-infested hotel in Spain after the war. Roger Kraus, a Nazi and André Bennett, a Canadian painter meet on a bridge on the last night of a fiesta. This novel is driven to a violent climax and got many mixed reviews, but it was an amazing start to his career.

The Mordecai-Richler Pavilion
To mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Mordecai Richler, in 2011 the city had the okay to
restore the music kiosk which was built in 1928 on the “Mont-Royal”. Rumour has it that
this restoration cost the city more than 700 000$.

Musical Comedy
In 2015, from May 7 to June 28, Mordecai Richler's famous novel, The Apprenticeship Of Duddy Kravitz came to life by a young comedian named Ken James Stewart. This piece was presented at the "Centre Segal de Montréal".
